Council of Ministers Approves Legislative Plan

For the first time since 1993, the Council of Ministers has approved a six-month legislative agenda. The legislative agenda sets forth the government’s priorities in terms of new legislation to be drafted and submitted for approval. The Taqnin department of the Ministry of Justice credits this step forward on the publicity and dialogue generated by the September MOJ conference, “The Legislative System of Afghanistan and its Current Challenges”. Over 180 people from government agencies, non-governmental and international organizations took part in the Conference which was highly publicized on radio, television and press. Speakers included the second Vice president, Minister of Justice, presidential advisors as well as USAID and AROLP representatives.
