His Excellency the Minister of Justice of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan had a meeting and discussion with NATO Civil Ambassador and his accompanied delegation.

 In this meeting, discussion on modality of protection of the child and the draft of law on prohibition of pederasty took place. His Excelency the Ambassador and his accompanied delegation expressed their concern on how to fight pederasty and spoke of prospective talks on child protection laws and prohibition of pederasty in Brussels.

 Moreover,  His Excellency the ambassador says : in the draft of laws on protection of child due to the sensitivity of  the issue I would like that  the  pederasty  phenomenon   shall be defined  and  punishment for this phenomenon  shall be specified in the draft of Afghan penal code.

At this time: the Minister of Justice says I am pleased that I am talking with a Muslim in this regard, you  know  that, based on Islamic culture and values  this phenomenon  has been considered a crime and this is the reason  that this important point  has been determined, defined and  considered crime. Also in Afghan penal code the punishment for this crime has been specified.

In this sitting the Minster of Justice of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan committed that prior to holding of Brussels conference the draft for protection of child and

Penal code of Afghanistan which is directly related to Pederasty shall be completed.

He added: that work on a comprehensive draft of child protection is progressing and in this draft   the phenomenon has been explicitly considered crime.

 In continuation, Abdul Majeed Ghani zadah Acting Director  of legislative affairs and Academic – legal research Institute says that: in the comprehensive draft of child protection ,cases such as making the child to dance, touching, assault and ….. has been considered crime and specific punishment has been determined in these cases.

At the end the Minister of Justice quoting a verse from Holy Koran said that, it requires correction and the draft which would be acceptable for the international community shall be prepared.

The civil ambassador of NATO, his accompanied delegation and but expressed their pleasure for the explanation and decisive commitments of the Minister of Justice. The meeting took place on 8 /  saratan / 1395.
