ABOUT THE MINISTER
This point was stated by His Excellency Dr. Abdul Basir Anwar the, Minister of justice of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in a sitting of High council of Juvenile correction centers.
This gathering was attended by Deputy Ministers and representatives of Ministry of interior affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry Information and Culture. Ministry of labor, Social affairs, Martyr and Disabled, Attorney General Office, Ministry of Women Affairs and Ministry of Public Health held on 1/4/1395 in the Ministry of justice.
In this meeting Mohammad Sedique .sediqee Director General of Juvenile correction centers presented an up to date report of these centers to the audience .
Mr. Sediqee says: security, educational, professional. Cultural, health,and psychological challenges as well as bails in prosecutor’s offices are amongst challenges with which the children in these centers face.
Some of the suspects convicts and accused who serve in these centers is resulting from the effects of misleading and fighting serials. Mr. sediqee said that he witnessd
situations in the past that several children had fired at members of their families by plastic pistols and some of the girls in the Juvenile correction centers have been suspected , convicted and accused because of effects of misleading serials.
Mr. sediqee considered it as a result of low publicity level of mass media in cultural affairs and asked that work should be done in this area as well.
Deputy Minister of information and culture regarded this work as a serious challenge, promising to take action for its correction.
Sayed Mohammad Hashemi Administrative- financial Deputy Minister of Justice had discussion on challenges of Juvenile Correction Centers with representatives of line ministries and exchanged views on the solutions.
The meeting of the High Council of Juvenile correction centers, based on Juvenile Correction Centers Law and nine sided agreement between Ministry of Justice and line Ministries is held once every 3 months.
