His Excellency Dr. Abdul Basir Anwar Minister of Justice of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan meets UNDP and UNAMA Rule of Law Representatives to discuss process of studying rule of law Indicators

H.E met with Belal Weqad UNAMA representative and UNDP director Mrs. Dawn Del Rio on 8 May 2016

H.E said: “National Unity Government is committed to reform the justice and judicial system of Afghanistan to deliver high quality services. Thus, on the one hand, we pave the ground to insure justice one the other hand; we know the level of public confidence on the Ministry. Based on these two important points, the process of studying rule of law indicators is significantly important.”

H.E also added that he is interested in making the process continuous.

H.E continued: “Since, the process of studying rule of law indicators is very technical and complicated; I believe without the technical and financial cooperation of creditable international organizations which function in this area, we wouldn’t achieve the desired result.”

Mrs. Del Rio UNDP rule of law director stated that UNDP with cooperation of UNAMA is committed on execution of second phase of this process.

H.E thanked UNDP and UNAMA for their cooperation on this process and hoped that UNDP and UNAMA fully support the Ministry to conduct the process of studying rule of law indicators, collection of data, follow up and implementation of recommendations in this process

At the end, Mrs. Del Rio appreciated the ministry on this regard and emphasized on the implementation of recommendations of previous report of indicators of rule of law.
