Although the leadership of the Ministry of Justice had previously informed the Ministry of Women Affairs and Civil Society that by the enforcement of Penal Code, articles related to the punitive provisions in the Elimination of Violence Against Women Law will remain intake and applicable, for more clarification, Taqnin Department of the Ministry of Justice declares that the Penal Code does not include the punitive provisions which are included in the Elimination of Violence Against Women Law. According to the state leadershipinstruction, based on the request of a huge number of women, articles related to the punitive provisions of violence against women law are omitted from penal code.”
