Minister of Justice meets the General Directorate of UNICEF

Dr. Abdul Basir Anwar, Minister of Justice for Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with Adela Khadir General Director of UNICEF, Ms. Sudha Mural and Mr. Hashemi authorities of Children Protection Section of UNICEF.

In this meeting, they talked about the maintenance of Badam-Bagh Kabul Women’s Detention Center and changing it to Juvenile Rehabilitation and Correction Center in order to bring the Children under Detention in Bagram province to this center, legal aids for children under detention for addressing their cases and Juvenile Comprehensive Law.

UNICEF took the responsibility to do the maintenance of Badam-Bagh Kabul Women’s Detention Center in order to change it to Juvenile Rehabilitation and Correction Center.

The Minister of Justice said about the Juvenile Comprehensive Law that the scrutiny of its draft is completed in the Ministry of Justice and it has been sent to the Law’s Committees of the Cabinet for approval.

At the end of this meeting, the General Director of UNICEF promised to provide the ground for Children’s Access to Legal Aids as well.
