Celebration of 13th year of the Afghan Constitution in the Ministry of Justice

The thirteenth year of ratification of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan celebrated at the Ministry of Justice with the participation of His Excellency Dr. Abdul Baseer Anwar, Minister of Justice, His Excellency Dr. Mohammad Qasim Hashimzai, head of the Independent Commission for Overseeing the Implementation of Constitution, Dr. Herawi, member of the said commission, heads of departments and the staff members of the Ministry of Justice.

The Minister of Justice talked on the significance of the Constitution in the country and stressed on its implementation in the country. He thanked and expressed his gratitude to the Independent Commission for Overseeing the Implementation of Constitution for its initiative and availing the opportunity to explain and gloss the Constitution and its history to the governmental and non-governmental institutions.

His Excellency the Minister directed the public awareness section of the Directorate General of the Legal Aid of the Ministry of Justice to place the “awareness” about the Constitution on the top of its programs. He also directed the Department of Publication of the Ministry of Justice to republish the Constitution in the national languages (Dari, Pashto) as well as English.

His Excellency the Minister, recalling the achievements of the Ministry of Justice in the last two years, said that the Ministry of Justice had processed some 91 legal documents in 1394, and from the outset of 1395 up to now, had processed some 77 legal documents, which comprise the most important laws and regulations.

Then, Dr. Mohammad Qasem Hashim Zai, head of the Independent Commission for Overseeing the Implementation of Constitution, Abdul Majeed Ghani Zada, Director General of the Legislative Affairs and Academic-Legal Researches Institute of the Ministry of Justice and Dr. Herawi, member of the Independent Commission for Overseeing the Implementation of Constitution, also spoke on the importance and the position of the Constitution in the country and the challenges before its implementation. They emphasized on the cent percent implementation of the provisions of the Constitution.
