Ministry of Justice of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan signs Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the organization of Fast & Rapid Development (FRD) on human trafficking.

His Excellency, Sayed Mohammad Hashimi, the Deputy Minister of Justice and Mr. Aziz Baheer, Director (finance & Admin.) of the (FRD) signed this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

In accordance with this MoU, the (FRD) will begin public awareness programs on human trafficking in 20 provinces of Afghanistan: Kabul, Logar, Wardak, Nangarhar, Kunar, Nuristan, Laghman, Takhar, Badakhshan, Kunduz, Herat, Balkh, Juzjan, Kandahar, Helmand, Nimroz, Khost, Paktia, Ghazni and Paktika.

Objectives of this MoU:

  1. Raising of public awareness on various social issues, in particular, the ominous phenomenon of the human trafficking and its nefarious impacts on human life;
  2. Providing necessary information on this evil phenomenon, and identifying the ways of prevention from it;
  3. Support the victims of this vicious phenomenon, and reflecting the opinion of people, particularly, the youth about the nasty act of human trafficking; and
  4. Creating opportunities of communication, exchange of views and the requests of people among the judicial institutions and people.

This project of (US$157.252) budget will be implemented with the financial support of the International Organization of Migration (IOM) in two years and six months period.
