Justice Minister visits Uruzgan Province

H.E Minister Ghaleb, accompanied by ISAF Deputy Commander, General Harward, and General Head of Prisons, Lieutenant General Amir Muhammad Jamshed, on the series of his tours to provinces, left for Uruzgan Province on January 13, 2011. He was warmly welcomed by the Uruzgan Governor, Director of Justice, Head of Appellate Court, Prison Sub-Director, and Head of Women Affairs, MPs and a number of Tribal leaders.
The Minister of Justice conveyed President’s message to the people and government officials of the province. Then H.E listened to Director of Justice and Head of Court Reports; he also listened to Prisoners’ problems and issued necessary instructions to the authorities.
Afterwards, the Minister of Justice of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan visited the work progress of the new prison construction; the mentioned prison is being built in 6.5 Jerib of land property of Ministry of Justice. The prison will have the capacity of 100 prisoners, will be built by the financial support of donors and its construction work is completed up to 70%. The construction work of the prison shall be complete soon with excellent facilities and standards.
