5 Armoured Vehicles Donated to MOJ

21 Sept 2010. In a meeting by Minister Ghalib, Ambassador of the United States for Rule of Law, Hans Klemm, DM Hashimzai, and Director Generals of the Ministry, it was decided the US Embassy will donate five armoured vehicles to MOJ.
H.E. Minister Ghalib expressed appreciation for US aid provided to the Ministry of Justice and for strengthening rule of law, ‘in continuation of its pervious aids for strengthening rule of law, ensuring public security and Afghans’ welfare, this time the United States has donated five armored vehicles to the Ministry of Justice. These aids are based on the agreement signed between the Ministry of Justice and the US Embassy in 2006 and was amended in 2008.’
United States continues to support judicial police, CID (Criminal Investigation Police) and Counter-Narcotics plans. In addition, besides ensuring security for Afghans and Afghanistan rehabilitation, it will provide Afghan people and governmental high ranking officials with security.
Based on this and the aforesaid agreement, under certain conditions, United States donated five armored vehicles for the official use of high ranking officials of the Ministry and Prisons Department of Afghanistan.
“I thank their cooperation and donations and I hope they will continue their assistance to the Ministry of Justice in prisons issues, rule of law and amendment of laws vital to Afghans’ social life,” Minister Ghalib said.  
The meeting concluded with US Ambassador Klemm promising increased cooperation with the Ministry of Justice.
